How to Hire a Wedding Planner to Coordinate Your Wedding

Sometimes it’s just best to leave it to the professionals. In a situation like planning your wedding, there are so many different aspects; it’s easy to get lost in all of it. It might not be a bad idea to look at bringing in a wedding coordinator to take the stress off you and your fiancé. Here are some steps to hire a wedding planner to coordinate your wedding.

Step1

Set a general date with your fiancé. You will want to have this in place when you are looking to hire a wedding planner, if for nothing more than to see if that planner is available.

Step2

Set a budget for the amount you are able to spend. Keep in mind the amount of money you are spending for the wedding planner will likely cover the cost for everything else.

Step3

Ask friends and family members who have used a wedding planner, or know someone who has. Get referrals, or seek advice on what to look for, or how they came to their decision on whom to hire.

Step4

Call on those referrals and discuss the price and the services they deliver. Write all the information down, but don’t make a decision until you have fully investigated everything.

Step5

Run a search through the Web site of your local newspaper, or through a national search engine on your area business listings. Contact these people and set up a time to discuss the features of their service and their pricing.

Step6

Compare those prices and service to the amount of money and time you would have to invest to do these things by yourself. Decide if hiring a planner is the best choice for you and your fiancé.

Step7

Go back to the planners you contacted earlier, and choose the best one for the dollar. Finalize plans and make sure to have both sides sign a contract that clearly states what service will be provided and what the agreed-upon cost of that is.

Tips & Warnings

· Research every option you have thoroughly. Make sure the company or person you are hiring is on the level.

· Don’t be afraid to shop prices around. You want to make sure you are getting the most value for your investment.

· Don’t bully your fiancé into hiring a wedding planner. There is still a personal aspect to it that some would enjoy to have.
